John Jay High School is seeking a qualified School Clinician to serve as a Long-Term Substitute in our high school’s Therapeutic Support Program (TSP) starting April 16, 2026, and ending on/or about May 15, 2026. Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and proof of licensure. This is a temporary position for the duration of the leave, with immediate start dates available. Hours: Full-time, Temporary, 7-hour day Anticipated Start Date: ASAP through on or about May 15, 2026 Qualifications: Current NYS license as a School Psychologist, Social Worker, or relevant clinical practitioner. This position involves assuming the current TSP caseload and providing mandated counseling services as outlined in students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Experience working with high school students in a therapeutic or counseling capacity. Familiarity with IEPs and mandated counseling procedures. Responsibilities: Delivering therapeutic support to students, maintaining continuity of care, and ensuring all counseling is conducted in accordance with legal and ethical standards. The clinician must strictly observe all confidentiality protocols and safeguard student information at all times. Salary: Long-term substitute teachers work 30 days or more but less than five months and are compensated $110/day for the first 30 days; on the 31 st day (assuming the prior 30 days were consecutive workdays) the daily rate is increased to $317.42, retroactive to the first day of the assignment.
