SCHOOL MONITOR JOB DESCRIPTIONMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESThe School Monitor is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to student supervision and control of student behavior on school premises.DUTIESOversees students on school premises before, during and after schoolMonitors student behavior and helps maintain order in hallways, classrooms, cafeterias and lavatorieChecks student passes, student identification and parking permitsSecures doors as necessaryAssists administration during non-routine student activities such as assembliesPerforms clerical tasks related to student discipline as necessaryMonitors student behavior and helps maintain order in parking areas and on school groundsMonitors student behavior and helps maintain order during after school and evening activitiesEscorts visitors to appropriate locationsParticipates in professional development as necessaryPerforms other duties as assigned by the supervisorAUTHORITYThe School Monitor reports to the building principal.
