In this capacity, the Assistant Business Administrator/District Treasurer will maintain a system for the preservation of all financial transactions in the District, be responsible for accounting and audit functions, invest district funds and supervise cash flow, file all year end state and local reports, and responsible for any additional duties as appropriate and requested by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Business.Essential job functions for Assistant Business Administrator/District Treasurer:• Responsible for all accounting functions including adjusting entries• Annual independent external, internal, and claims audit liaison• Directs and supervises implementation of audit recommendations made to district• Preparation of annual financial statements including GASB 34 conversion• Preparation of monthly Treasurer’s Report to the Board of Education• Signatory on all checks and disbursements as authorized• Initiates electronic payments and transfers as authorized• Works with various financial institutions to ensure that District funds are secure and investment income is maximized• Check collateral statements and reconcile to bank balances monthly• Prepares annual cash flows and determines short-term and long-term borrowing needs, and assists in preparation of Official Statements in connection with such borrowings• Preparation and filing of all financial records with state and federal agencies• Coding, monitoring and reporting for all federal, state, and local grants, and capital projects• Ensures fiscal accountability of all budgeted units• Assist in supervising business office personnel including accounts payable, purchasing, and payroll• Any additional duties as appropriate and requested by the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Business
