ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR HUMAN RESOURCES & EDUCATIONAL OPERATIONSThe award-winning Jericho School District is seeking a dynamic and transformational leader for this 12-month central office position reporting to the Superintendent of Schools. This position requires NYS SAS or SDL certification and at least five years of successful experience as an Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and/or building principal.The candidate should possess outstanding interpersonal skills, an understanding of organizational theory, and the ability to effectively communicate, plan and provide oversight of all human resources and educational operations functions. Responsibilities/Qualifications include:Demonstrated experience with employee labor relations and contract, wages, and benefit administration.Demonstrated knowledge of NYS Education Law, NYS Civil Service Law, NYS certification requirements and HR policy development.Expertise and experience in staff supervision, current APPR regulations, and knowledge of frameworks & protocols for evaluation of all employees.Experience in staff recruitment, selection, evaluation & supervision of all instructional and non-instructional staff.Experience in long range planning, demographics, population trends and enrollment projections.Experience as a liaison with legal counsel in matters concerning employee contracts, litigation, and conflict resolution. Strong ability to manage HR technology platforms.Conduct all Superintendent’s Hearings.Complete all NYS reports including staff snapshots, staff tenure, staff attendance, SSEC, CRDC and EEOC and BEDS. Demonstrate knowledge of school district safety plan, employee workplace violence prevention plan and all training requirements.Experience with unemployment law and administration of benefits. Coordinate and supervise all student registration and residency.
