JOHNSON CITY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS Multiple positions available DATE: March 16, 2026 EFFECTIVE DATE OF ASSIGNMENT: September 1, 2026 LOCATION: Elementary and Secondary locations STARTING SALARY: Current Entry Salary (Higher rates available with prior experience) Bachelors: $59,136 Masters: $ 63,352 REQUIRED CERTIFICATION: Candidates must have a valid NYS Certification in Provisional/Permanent Special Education (K-12), or Initial/Professional Students with Disabilities ( 1-6) or Initial/Professional Students with Disabilities ( B-2) or Initial/Professional Students with Disabilities ( 7 - 12) . Multiple certifications and extensions in STDIS desirable Candidates who have just completed degrees and are finalizing certification are welcome to apply. The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate the Ability to: Create and maintain a learning environment for students that nurtures academic and social-emotional growth. Intervene with students individually and in small groups on social emotional competencies and behavior skills Make contributions to the culture of the school district both in and outside of the classroom setting. Work effectively with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum, design engaging and relevant daily lessons, analyze and respond to data from common assessments, and to create interventions and enrichments for the purpose of meeting the needs of all students.
