JOHNSON CITY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Resource Room – Social and Emotional Behavior Skills DATE: June 2, 2026 EFFECTIVE DATE OF ASSIGNMENT: September 1, 2026 LOCATION: Johnson City Elementary School STARTING SALARY: Current Entry Salary (Higher rates available with prior experience) Bachelors: $59,136 Masters: $63,352 REQUIRED CERTIFICATION: Candidates must have a valid NYS Certification in Provisional/Permanent Special Education (K-12), or Initial/Professional Students with Disabilities (1-6) and/or ( B-2 ). Multiple certifications and extensions in STDIS desirable Candidates who have just completed degrees and are finalizing certification are welcome to apply. The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate the Ability to: • Create and maintain a learning environment for students with a variety of disability areas that nurtures academic and social-emotional growth to ward IEP goals . • Make contributions to the culture of the school district both in and outside of the classroom setting. • Communicate effectively with colleagues and families to monitor student progress, update student goals, and maintain updated information on a student’s IEP. Additionally, the candidate will demonstrate proficiency in writing IEPs and creating a system of organization which emphasizes preparation for CSE meetings. • Use evidence-based instructional approaches to teach social emotional skills including self-regulation, problem-solving, social interaction skills, etc .
