The Irvington Union Free School District is seeking a full-time, probationary Middle School French Teacher for the 2026/27 school year. Responsibilities: Prepares and delivers exemplary lessons to students Provides timely feedback to students from tests, papers and other assignments Researches new topic areas, remains current in the subject Develops curriculum in accordance with the District’s requirements Communicates with parents on a consistent basis ensuring communication regarding any student difficulties Selects and uses a wide range of learning resources and equipment Provides for the differentiation of instruction for students’ diverse learning needs Manages student behaviors in the classroom and school building/grounds and applies the student code of conduct consequences Participates and organizes extracurricular activities as needed Participates in departmental meetings, parent meetings and school wide events Coordinates and collaborates with other professionals such as special education teachers, guidance counselors, social workers and others Participates in ongoing professional development activities Provides college recommendations for students as needed Provides for the differentiation of student’s diverse learning needs Applies fair and ethical grading practices Provides for assessment and recording of student development Other duties as assigned Other Qualifications: Prioritizes responsibilities and exhibits a high level of organization Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills Exhibits positive demeanor, sense of humor and compassion Demonstrates reflective practice and continuous improvement Demonstrates motivation and good work ethic Abides by school and District policies Exhibits excellent communication skills Exhibits excellent attendance record Demonstrates a high level of ethical behavior Must maintain NYS teacher certification
