Irvington High School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered educator to fill a part-time leave replacement position in Earth Science. This assignment includes one section of Earth Science and the accompanying laboratory period. The course is co-taught in partnership with a special educator. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based Earth Science instruction aligned with NYS standards Collaborate closely with a special educator to co-plan, co-teach, and support diverse learners Facilitate hands-on laboratory experiences that promote scientific thinking and analysis Create a classroom environment that supports curiosity, collaboration, and student voice Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor and support student learning Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and instructional best practices Qualifications NYS Certification in Earth Science or eligibility for certification Strong content knowledge and a commitment to student-centered instruction Experience with or willingness to work in a co-teaching model Experience with or willingness to implement inquiry-based and performance-based learning Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues Irvington Union Free School District is an equal opportunity employer.
