Anticipated Opening 2024-2025 School Year: ENL Teacher Islip Middle School The Islip School District seeks a student-centered educator who is dedicated to professional growth and committed to the success of all students. The successful candidate will currently hold the required certification (see below), have some experience working as a full-time teacher or a leave replacement in a high school, and meet the desired qualifications outlined below. Certification: New York State Department of Education Certification in TESOL/ESOL Desired Qualifications Bilingual preferredKnowledgeable in administering state assessments NYSITELL and NYSESLAT.Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with parents, students, and staff.Planning, preparing, and delivering appropriate lessons using a variety of presentation methods and technology resources.Progress monitoring and using data to inform instruction in classrooms.Enthusiastic, innovative, and caring personalityKnowledge of Google Classroom and Infinite CampusWorks collaboratively with teachers and administratorsUses a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and support a range of learners.Develops and uses varied assessments (exams, projects, written work, etc.) to measure student progress.
