ANTICIPATED OPENING FOR THE 2026 - 2027 SCHOOL YEAR: ENL FULL YEAR LEAVE REPLACEMENT - SECONDARY The Islip School District seeks a student-centered educator who is dedicated to professional growth and committed to the success of all students. The successful candidate will currently hold the required certification (see below), have some experience working as a full-time teacher or a leave replacement in a middle school or high school, and meet the desired qualifications outlined below. Certification: New York State Department of Education Certification in TESOL/ESOL Desired Qualifications: Bilingual preferred Knowledgeable in administering state assessments NYSITELL and NYSESLAT. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with parents, students, and staff. Planning, preparing, and delivering appropriate lessons using a variety of presentation methods and technology resources. Progress monitoring and using data to inform instruction in classrooms. Enthusiastic, innovative, and caring personality Knowledge of Google Classroom and Infinite Campus Works collaboratively with teachers and administrators Uses a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and support a range of learners. Develops and uses varied assessments (exams, projects, written work, etc.) to measure student progress. Application will be accepted through OLAS only; no other applications will be considered.
