Hewlett High School is seeking a full time Attendance Teacher with a start date of August 29, 2024. Interested candidates must have NYS Attendance Teacher Certification.The job responsibilities are:Responsible for student attendance dataCommunicates with parents/guardians regarding attendance and related issuesEnsures accuracy of attendance recordsMakes and receives phone calls, sends emails regarding student absenceVerifies excusesEvaluates situations specific to attendance involving staff,students,parents and others for the purpose of taking appropriate action and/or directing to appropriate personnel for resolutionOther functions may be required for the purpose of supporting building's attendance needsWorks closely with building administrators in communicating information regarding attendance patterns and concernsAttends parent meetings as neededCompiles, organizes, communicates information about students at risk or receiving DCA (denial of credit due to attendance)Pathway: Individual EvaluationEducation - Bachelors DegreeCollege Coursework - Professional Education - 6 S.H."Professional Education" coursework means study offered for credit by an institution of higher education that prepares candidates for a career in classroom teaching, administration, or pupil personnel services.
