Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning, and Technology Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools (HWPS) is located on the south shore of Long Island and is consistently ranked as one of the highest performing Districts on both state and national levels. The District educates close to 3000 Pre-K through 12th grade students across five schools. Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools is dedicated to providing all students with enriching and exciting educational experiences in caring, student-centered environments. We are seeking an innovative, experienced, and collaborative administrator to provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the development, implementation, and advancement of the District’s P-12 educational and instructional technology programs. Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, the successful candidate will be an integral member of the senior leadership team and serve as a liaison to the Board of Education on all curriculum and technology committees. Required qualifications: NYSED certification in administration (SDA/SDL). Preferred qualifications: Experience as building level/central office administrator; knowledge of New York State Learning Standards and Assessments; experience in the supervision, evaluation, and professional development of teachers; and experience in application and implementation of computer-based technologies. Effective Date: July 1, 2024 Key responsibilities: Provide leadership for the pre-kindergarten through 12th grade curriculum and instructional programsProvide leadership for the District-wide Information Technology (IT) DepartmentSupervise and evaluate P-12 Chairpersons, 9-12 Business Chair, IT Staff, and Technology Integration Lead TeachersCreate content-specific coaching, needs assessment, and coordination of District-wide professional development opportunities for employeesCoordinate the development of the NYSED Professional Development and Instructional Technology PlansSupervise the integration of technology into the instructional programSupervise the vertical and horizontal articulation among schools in the area of curriculum, scheduling, and staffingSupervise textbook selection, field trips, and environmental education program planning, approval and assessmentSupervise the administration and scoring of NYSED assessments K-8, Regents Exams, and all District standardized tests; monitor and review test data and use findings to initiate corrective action plans for the affected group of students and/or schoolAttend Board of Education meetings and prepare such reports for the Board as the Superintendent may requestServe as the District’s Data Protection OfficerCurrent knowledge of APPR requirements, NYS standards, and RTIPossess an understanding of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and accountability measuresKnowledge of Educational Law 2D, cybersecurity, and compliance with NYSED guidelines and best practices _____________________________________________________________________________________In addition to applying on OLAS Interested candidates must apply online by February 16, 2024 at:www.hewlett-woodmere.netClick on career opportunitiesCompleted application must include: cover letter, resume, and letters of recommendation.Equal Opportunity Employer
