DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is important administrative work, the primary purpose of which is accurate maintenance of electronic student data and timely submission of District reports to State and Federal Agencies regarding student enrollment, student demographic information and other related data. The incumbent will develop, implement and maintain procedures and processes for the enrollment of all students within the District. Work is performed in accordance with policies and objectives outlined by the School Board and the District Superintendent. General supervision is received from the Assistant Superintendent of Schools, permitting the incumbent leeway for the exercise of independent judgment in applying policy to specific cases. The incumbent has responsibility for interpreting policy for District Attendance Clerks. Does related work as required. FULL PERFORMANCE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Good technical aptitude; Good knowledge of computer software applications, microcomputers, and related equipment; Good knowledge of statistical techniques, particularly in relation to the collection, verification and tabulation of raw data; Ability to keep records and prepare reports in a variety of formats; Ability to train employees in office methods and procedures; Ability to interact well with individuals or with a group; Ability to plan and implement activities; Ability to organize and lay out work for others; Ability to establish and maintain effective inter-personal relationships with subordinates and others to secure their cooperation; Resourcefulness in the solution of complex administrative problems; Ability to express self clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to work independently; Responsive to customer needs; initiative and resourcefulness; dependability; good judgment; tact and courtesy. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:Graduation from a NYS registered or regionally accredited two-year college with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Secretarial Science or a related field and five (5) years of responsible office experience in a public agency or private business with emphasis on electronic technology and electronic data management and analysis; or Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and seven (7) years of responsible office experience in a public agency or private business with emphasis on electronic technology and electronic data management and analysis. Position is a 12-month, 8-hour daily position with full benefits of Health, Vision and Dental. Paid vacation, sick days and personal time. Salary range: $38,000 - $47,000 salary commensurate with skills and experience.
