District Curriculum Coordinator QualificationsNew York State Teaching CertificateMinimum seven years teaching experience Reports ToDirector of Curriculum & Professional Learning Job GoalsTo assist the district administrators in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of PK – 12 curriculum throughout the district. Work Year/Day10 month educational year plus 27 additional workdays7.5 hours per day with attendance at additional afterschool trainings and curricular events throughout the year. Work outside of the normal workday will be compensated by instructor in-service, compensatory time, or flexing the normal work day. Salary and benefits in accordance with the Horseheads Teachers’ Association contract ResponsibilitiesAssists in the development and implementation of a professional learning program focused on curriculum that increases educator effectiveness and results for all students.Facilitates the backwards design process of curriculum development- aligning curriculum and assessments both horizontally and vertically.Integrates theories, research, and models of human learning to achieve intended district professional learning outcomes related to curriculum.Provide professional learning on instructional materials, approaches, and programs.Assists in the analysis and evaluations of instructional programs and materialsWorks to assure that courses of study are designed with adequate attention to scope and sequence, identifying gaps that may require professional learning.Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent.
