Herricks Middle School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered educator for a Leave Replacement Science Teacherposition. Position Details Role: Leave Replacement Science Teacher Location: Herricks Middle School Duration: On or about April 13, 2026, through the end of the school year Courses: Earth and Space Science and Science 8 Key Responsibilities & Instructional Priorities Implement High-Quality Instruction: Utilize foundational techniques and strategies to enhance student learning in Earth and Space and general Science 8 Foster a Welcoming Environment: Create student-centered, affirming learning spaces that align with our culturally responsive-sustaining framework Integrate the 6Cs: Embed the Portrait of a Graduate competencies into daily lessons, challenging students to think critically and innovate creatively Utilize Modern Tools: Leverage meaningful instructional technology and explore the use of Artificial Intelligence to enhance the learning experience Assessment for Learning: Work with success criteria and learning targets to ensure student learning is both intentional and measurable Qualifications Appropriate New York State Certification in Science Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with instructional leaders and faculty
