We are seeking a passionate and innovative Probationary High School Business Teacher to join our highly motivated team in one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse, high-achieving school districts in Nassau County. You will bring enthusiasm and dedication to fostering a student-centered learning environment that promotes critical thinking and real-world application of business principles.Responsibilities:Student-Centered Instruction: Implement a student-centered approach that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration.Technology Integration: Incorporate instructional technology to enhance student engagement and deepen learning experiences.Work-Based Learning: Demonstrate enthusiasm for expanding our Cooperative Work-Based Learning program, connecting students with valuable real-world experiences.Curriculum Development & Implementation: Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans and curriculum materials.Differentiated Instruction: Plan and utilize appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodations for the individual needs of all students.Positive Role Model: Serve as a positive role model for students, embodying the mission and values of the school district.Positive Learning Environment: Create and maintain a learning environment that is conducive to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.Effective Communication: Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers through conferences and other means.Professional Collaboration: Maintain positive and professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.Program Development: Demonstrate enthusiasm for developing new and innovative courses in business education.Extracurricular Involvement: Facilitate student participation in Business clubs and competitions, including DECA and Virtual Enterprise.Professional Growth: Participate in local and regional business education organizations and workshops to stay current with best practices and industry trends.Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:Strong understanding of business principles and practices.Experience with integrating technology into the classroom.Ability to develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, student success and a commitment to creating a positive learning environment. Ability to facilitate student participation in clubs and competitions.
