Leave Replacement - Middle School Math Teacher (Pre-Algebra & Algebra)Herricks Public Schools, a district rooted in the core values of Trust, Integrity, Respect, Making a Difference, Creativity, and Teamwork, is seeking an innovative and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to teach Pre-Algebra and Algebra. We believe in fostering a community that prepares students for success in an ever-changing world, guided by our Portrait of a Graduate framework.We are seeking a teacher who will:Employ a student-centered approach that promotes critical thinking and mathematical discourse.Utilize math-based technology tools to engage every student.Teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Math AIS/Electives.Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to Individual Education Plans (IEP).Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school district.Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or the Director of Mathematics to ensure a successful program.At Herricks, we emphasize the development of key skills and competencies beyond content knowledge, preparing students for future professions that may not yet exist.
