Director of Science & Technology (K-12) - Minimum of five years of teacher experience; minimum 3 years of administrative experience.Director of Science and Technology shall be directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and the Superintendent of Schools. The Director of Science and Technology must have a strong understanding of best practices in teaching and learning. The Director of Science and Technology will supervise the science and technology departments and assist in assessing staffing needs, coordinating recruiting, hiring and supporting of new staff. Specific Skills, Knowledge, Abilities and Duties:Knowledge of New York State K-12 standards and assessments; Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills;Designs, schedules and coordinates professional development related to Science (K-12) and Technology Instruction;Maintain professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members;Coordinates and supervises standardized, state and/or school assessments and prepares reports.Evaluates and analyzes student achievement data for department placement and instructional program.Conducts department and team meetings for the Science and Technology Departments.Attends elementary faculty meetings, as needed.Assists in recruiting, screening, interviewing, hiring, training and assigning of teachers.
