The Herricks School District is looking for substitute nurses who will become members of a highly motivated team in one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse, high achieving district in Nassau County. We seek an outstanding collaborator with experience working with students, parents and school staff to solve problems through communication, support and experiences. Effective Start Date: January 8, 2024 Candidates must be licensed as a Registered Nurse and have obtained a CPR/AED certificates. DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness;Overseeing vision and hearing screening and procedures;Monitoring immunizations records;Update student medical history;Overseeing medication administration and health care procedures;Providing health-related education to students and staff in both individual and group settings;Ensure compliance with national and local health laws. Position requires Nassau County Civil Service clearance. Candidates will be required to be fingerprinted in compliance with New York State Education Department regulations.
