Long Term Day to Day Substitute Teaching Assistant - (Strive 2) - Center Street Elementary SchoolAnticipated on/about March 24 to June 28, 2024A teaching assistant assists students with instructional and behavioral needs. Teaching assistants report directly to the Building Principal and/or the Special Education Supervisor. SPECIFIC SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:Provide instructional support to individual students under the direction of the classroom teacherAssists the teacher in planning and maintaining a safe, clean, learning environment and in assuring the well-being and safety of the children in his/her care.Present subject matter to small group or individual students under the direction and guidance of teachers, using lectures, discussions, or supervised role-playing methods.Maintains a positive, calm attitude and a soft voice, and encourage this attitude and voice in others working in the classroom.Assist in related duties which may be assigned because of specific needs (the maintenance and/or preparation of instructional and life skills materials, for example).Other responsibilities to be assigned by Special Education Supervisor, Principal, and/or his/her designee.
