Duties and qualifications: Under the supervision of the teacher, the aide will:Provide support to special education students as per Individual Education Program (IEP) mandate;Integrate special education student(s) into a group setting;Support academic instruction;Facilitate social interactions between special education students and their peers;Integrate special education students into general education settings when appropriate;Implement behavior intervention plans and collect data as per plan;Provide assistance with self-help skills and Activities of Daily Living Experience working with students in a school environment preferred. High School Diploma RequiredPosition requires Nassau County Civil Service clearance. Candidates will be required to be fingerprinted in compliance with New York State Education Department regulations.
