The Harpursville Jr/Sr high school is seeking a science teacher for a probationary tenure-track position. This person will be teaching predominantly Grades 7 and 8 Science. The ideal candidate will possess both the General Science certification along with the Living Environment 7-12. We are seeking an individual that wants to join a team where PLCs (Professional Learning Communities) and student-centered, engaging lessons are our focus. The district has prioritized the use of assessments and data acquired to frame our discussions and decisions. Each individual child’s specific strengths and needs from an academic and emotional standpoint drive our choices around how to ensure each student is successful. The Harpursville district is approximately 15 miles northeast of Binghamton. We are a small, rural school that has strong community involvement and parent engagement. There are approximately 600 students in the district. We are a remote district where the opportunities afforded to both students and staff are impressive.
