The Hoosic Valley Central School District is seeking an educational leader for its K-12 Special Education Program. Projected Start Date: July 1, 2023.Minimum Qualifications:NYS certification as a District Level Administrator (SDA/SDL) or Building Level Administrator (SBL)Experience in the field of Special Education preferred ( i.e., Teacher, School Psychologist, Speech Language Pathologist)Experience as a Committee on Special Education Chairperson preferredFamiliar with Part 200 RegulationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsEssential Job Functions:Responsible for development and oversight of Special Education programs and services for district students with disabilities. Ensures that policies and procedures regarding programs and services for students with disabilities are in conformance with State and federal regulations.Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding special education issues, regulatory changes and their implications, and effective instructional methods for instruction of students with disabilities.Supervision and evaluation of special education instructional staff, related services personnel, and support staff.Serves as Chairperson of Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE), Committee on Special Education (CSE), and Section 504 Committee.Collaboration with building leaders regarding programmatic and scheduling needs of the special education department.Development of program budgets and staffing levels to support program needs with fiscal efficiency.Responsible for development and management of IDEA grants (611 & 619).Provide professional development opportunities for special education staff.Development of reports for the Board of Education and Superintendent of Schools.
