2026 – 2027 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCIES Internal candidates only Department of Bilingual Education & World Languages POSITIONS: ELEMENTARY DEPARTMENT LIAISONS QUALIFICATIONS: Valid New York state TESOL certification KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate and communicate with building leaders and the Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages to: Coordinate the organization and scheduling of language assessments for all designated students. Communicate testing dates, logistical procedures, and updates clearly to building staff. Attend WIDA reporting and logistical training and provide turnkey training/information to building staff. Address any assessment-related questions or operational concerns from school personnel. Maintain precise, up-to-date data related to ELLs and share reports with building administrators on a regular basis. Review all student rosters 4 times a year to accurately identify all ELLs, verify correct program placement, ensure all ELLs are accurately assigned to their designated program models. Track student enrollment, new arrivals, and formal discharges from ELL services. Collaborate with the department to create and distribute 4 instructional newsletters throughout the school year. Share departmental updates and relevant data during regularly scheduled building staff meetings. Serve as a primary point of contact to answer teacher questions and address departmental concerns. Attend all Language Proficiency Team (LPT) meetings to support language proficiency reviews and student formatting. Attend a minimum of 3 PTO meetings annually to provide department updates and/or facilitate workshops for families. LOCATION: All Elementary Schools COMPENSATION: Service Assignment III: Selected applicants will be required to submit a 5-hour monthly log, detailing their specific scope of work and identifying activities performed beyond the regular contractual workday.
