2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCY INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY Department of Data Integration, Systems, and Continuous Improvement POSITION: MTSS Academic Intervention Coach Provide job-embedded, in-building support for MTSS programming, assessments, and processes used by teachers and interventionists to implement Tier 2 and Tier 3 reading and math interventions for identified students. This district-based position reports to the Director of MTSS. QUALIFICATIONS: Valid NYS Teaching Certification (e.g., Literacy, Special Education, or General Education). Minimum of 5 years of teaching or intervention experience, with demonstrated success supporting struggling learners. Deep understanding of MTSS frameworks, data-driven instruction, and academic intervention strategies. Experience with progress monitoring tools (e.g., AIMSWeb Plus, Star CBM) and data analysis. Strong facilitation and coaching skills with the ability to lead professional learning for adult learners. Knowledge of NYS learning standards and assessments. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Support diagnostic assessment to pinpoint specific skill deficits and match each student to the appropriate intervention and entry point. · Support the design of intervention groupings and scheduling so students receive the correct intervention at sufficient dosage, frequency, and group size. · Observe intervention delivery and monitor fidelity of implementation, providing targeted feedback, modeling, and co-delivery to interventionists and teachers. · Coach staff on progress-monitoring administration, data entry, and graphing, and applying decision rules to determine student response and next steps. · Support data-based evaluations on students not responding to standard-protocol intervention, analyzing progress-monitoring trends and adjusting intensity, group size, or strategy. · Support the intensification of interventions for students requiring Tier 3 support, adjusting dosage, time, group size, and specialized strategies along the continuum of intensity. · Build the capacity of interventionists through onboarding, modeling, and ongoing professional learning on evidence-based intervention practices. · Support implementation, pacing, and usage monitoring of intervention programs (Lexia Core5, Phonics for Reading, Corrective Reading, etc.) and evaluate effectiveness. · Partner with building problem-solving and individual student success teams to review intervention data and inform tiered decisions. · Strengthen the data-based movement of students across tiers, including clear criteria for entry, exit, and intensification. · Support the integrity of intervention documentation so records are sufficient for instructional decisions and, where applicable, to inform special education referral readiness.
