2024 - 2025 SCHOOL YEAR VACANCIESInternal Candidates OnlyPOSITIONS: SECONDARY INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES • English Language Arts • English As a New Language (ENL) • Mathematics • Science • Social Studies • Special Education • Technology/Data QUALIFICATIONS: Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Subject Area Master’s Degree, Five (5) years of satisfactory teaching experience REPORTS TO: PrincipalLOCATION: Hempstead High School and ABGS Middle School DUTIES:Knowledgeable of Education Regulations and Laws.Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.Engage families in their children’s education.Commit to continual professional growth, participating actively in department meetings, faculty meetings, and other meetings.Participate in an annual subject area training.Mentor and support teachers in instructional practice and professional development.Proven track-record of improving student performance in the classroom.Mastery of and enthusiasm for academic subjects.Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player.Understand the use of data driven instruction.Facilitate Professional Learning Communities. COMPENSATION: Service Assignment I (20 hours per month outside of their workday) (Monthly logs are required to identify activities conducted beyond the regular workday) All coaches are expected to facilitate professional development during the day and after school. This includes Teacher’s Choice Professional Development on Wednesdays. All coaches must be at work to receive the full stipend. Compensation will be prorated based on the attendance of the coach.
