The Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District is seeking a full-time Long Term Substitute School Social Worker for the 2023-2024 school year. The school district is looking for inspiring educators who can serve as the link between school and community in providing services to students, families and school personnel to promote and support students' academic and social success.Requirements:NYS Certified School Social WorkerNYSED fingerprint clearanceQualifications:Ability to provide counseling and support for students K-8;Spanish speaking preferred but not required;The ability to establish a shared commitment to the goals of the school and the district by building strong relationships with administrators, fellow staff, students, and parents alike;Knowledge of Crisis Incident Stress Management, Dignity for All Students Act, and Restorative Justice Practices.Responsibilities:Provide social work support services to students;Provide teachers and staff with strategies and interventions for struggling scholars;Work to align social, emotional, and behavioral supports with the School District's mission;Conduct direct family outreach - including home visits;Regularly communicate with parents, teachers, and other staff to provide support;Provide individual, group and family services;Provide intensive services and crisis intervention for high-risk students and their families;Maintain parent involvement with correspondence, home visits and meetings;Assist with planning and implementation of schoolwide events;Assist students in setting and reaching both short and long term academic and attendance-related goals;Attend IEP and other meetings to assess and address students receiving special education services;Other duties as assigned.Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume for consideration.
