Social WorkerWe are seeking a New York State Certified Social Worker to become a member of a support team for grades 6-12, beginning August 30, 2024. As a member of the school community, the Social Worker will provide comprehensive social-emotional support services to our diverse student population. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, culturally competent and committed to promoting equity and inclusion. ResponsibilitiesProvide individual and group counseling services to students dealing with a range of social, emotional and behavioral issues.Collaborate with teachers, administrators and parents to develop and implement interventions to support student success.Conduct assessments and develop personalized plans to address students' academic, social and emotional needs.Serve as a resource for students and families, offering guidance and referrals to community resources as needed.Facilitate workshops and programs focused on topics such as stress management and conflict resolution.Advocate for students' rights and ensure that all students have equal access to educational opportunities.Maintain accurate and confidential student records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.Conduct professional development for teachers and staff members.Provide prevention, intervention and post intervention counseling to students involved in behavioral issues.QualificationsNew York State Social Worker Certification is required.Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.Strong understanding of adolescent development, trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with students, families and staff from diverse backgrounds.Commitment to cultural competence, equity and social justice.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to respond to the evolving needs of students and the school community.Bilingual Preferred Starting Salary: Step 1D (Master’s) $69,527Interested candidates must apply through OLAS AND complete the application on the HHH District website at: https://www.hhh.k12.ny.us/ > District > Career Opportunities.
