DATA ANALYST MANAGERDISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position is the point of contact for RIC and the US Office for Civil Rights. The work involves the responsibility for the submission of information to the Data Warehouse including demographics, enrollment, program services, assessments, courses, attendance and grades. Incumbents monitor School Tool records for accuracy of data, and update information as needed. Duties also include Testing Coordination, Development of Data Verification Protocol, and Data Analysis and Instructional Improvement. Performs other duties as required.TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:Submits information to the Data Warehouse; i.e. Demographics Enrollment, Program Services, Assessments, Staff, Courses, Staff-Student-Course Linkages (for APPR), Attendance, Final Grades, and Staff Evaluations;Monitors School Tool records for accuracy of data;Updates student Program Service records in School Tool (LEP/ELL, IEP, Section 504, UPK codes, Targeted Assistance);Applies updates to School Tool servers as needed; Activates and Inactivates School Tool users as needed;Maintains School Tool security permissions; Orders Regents Exam answer sheets; Communicates SED and NERIC directives to Building Principals; Downloads and distributes regents scores;Collects and verifies 3-8 Assessment Roster Reports and updates Data Warehouse records;Downloads and verifies Tested/Not-Tested reports for 3-8 assessments;Attends regional meetings with NERIC Testing Service to ensure all requirements are met;Collects and submits district data for USED office of Civil Rights;Corrects data warehouse errors in source systems; Reviews and verifies BEDS day enrollment reports;Reviews and verifies Special Education reports from PD system;Reviews and verifies accountability reports; Coordinates Teacher-Student Data Linkage verifications;Reviews and verifies Staff Evaluation Reports;Tracks cohort sizes;Maintains records of graduation and drop-out rate statistics;Maintains records of student performance on 3-8 ELA and Math assessments;Provides data as requested for various projects; Securely houses SLO data files;Presents data to district stakeholders;Interprets APPR Field Guidance and assists in ensuring that APPR regulations are met;Maintains website items such as news items and announcements, updates to Board policies, posting of school calendar, etc.Attends regional meetings with NERIC to ensure SED reporting requirements are met.FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of software applications and apps;Proficiency in spreadsheet applications;Understanding of state reporting requirements;Ability to visualize data;Attention to detail;Organizational skills;Time management;Ability to prioritize;Communication skills;Confidentiality;Independent and team-oriented;Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. Possession of a bachelors’ degree or higher, and two (2) years of experience in a data reporting field; ORB. Possession of an associate’s degree, and four (4) years of experience in a data reporting field; ORC. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and six (6) years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) of experience in a data reporting field.Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
