HFM BOCES is accepting applications for 10-month Teacher Aide position in the Adirondack Academy (ADK), our alternative high school. ADK was specifically designed to help students who have encountered obstacles in the regular school setting. ADK’s alternative education emphasizes small class sizes and close relationships with teachers, staff and administrators in order to build a sense of community.Teacher Aides work directly with students to assist them with access to an educational program. There may be additional opportunity for summer work, but it is not required. This is an immediate opening. As a result, review and consideration of candidates will commence immediately and continue until which time the position is filled. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma is required.This is a Civil Service position with a residency requirement; you must be a resident of Hamilton, Fulton or Montgomery County in order to be considered for this position.Formal job offer/selection is contingent on ability to obtain a fingerprint supported criminal history background check through the TEACH system prior to working.
