The Haldane Central School District is seeking applicants for a full-time probationary position as a School Psychologist to begin in the 2025-2026 school year. This position requires a New York State or National (NASP) Certification as a School Psychologist. The candidate will be responsible for supporting all grades (K through 12th grade) within the district following the NASP Practice Model. The ideal candidate will have experience meeting the learning, social-emotional, mental, and behavioral health needs of students. This includes, but is not limited to, conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations, consulting with school-based teams, families, and outside resources, developing behavior plans, conducting FBAs, providing counseling services, developing academic interventions, and participating in the CSE process. In addition, the School Psychologist will be an important member of the MTSS team, the Threat Assessment Team, and the Mental Health Team K-12. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.Leadership skills and a proactive approach are essential to this role as the School Psychologist will be expected to chair CSE and 504 meetings (or display appropriate leadership qualities and a willingness to be trained), work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, and will need to anticipate and to problem solve in unique situations. The ideal candidate must have the ability to display empathy and to connect on a personal level with students, families, and with colleagues alike. Likewise, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a desire to continue to learn and to grow, and to work toward supporting an inclusive and affirming environment for all students.
