The position will provide supervision and coaching to the school's Unified Basketball program. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team.The season begins on Mar. 31th, 2025 to May 21st, 2025.The team is expected to meet 3 times weekly per a schedule developed by the building AD and Section 8 Athletics.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:· New York Certified Teacher/Coach· NYSED approved CPR/AED and First Aid Certification.· NYSED approved Fingerprint Clearance.· Concussion Management Certification (NFHS or CDC)· Extensive Knowledge of the sport, playing experience, High School, College, and other relevant experience.· Demonstrable knowledge and ability concerning health, safety, and training techniques for sport.· Demonstrable knowledge and ability to establish high standards of student conduct in and around facilities (i.e., locker room, buses, etc.)· Demonstrable knowledge and ability to work effectively with parents, students, and staff in a manner consistent with the established philosophy and goals of the district.· Availability for practices and games as scheduled by the school and Section.And any other reasonable duties/tasks as determined by the district supervisors/administratorsInterested candidates can apply to Mitch Braun: mbraun@greatneck.k12.ny.us
