Special Education Teacher (Math/Science Preferred)Greenburgh Eleven Union Free School District is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Special Education Teacher, preferably with a Math and/or Science background, to join our Special Act public school district beginning March 11th 2026.Greenburgh Eleven serves students placed by The Children’s Village and other referring agencies who present with significant academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. Instruction occurs within a highly structured, trauma-informed, and therapeutic environment. The successful candidate will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction while supporting students’ individualized learning, behavioral, and emotional needs.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide special education instruction aligned with NYS Learning Standards, with a preference for Math and/or Science contentDevelop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with IDEA and NYSED requirementsDifferentiate instruction to meet a wide range of academic abilities and learning profilesUtilize trauma-informed, restorative, and evidence-based instructional practicesCollaborate with related service providers, support staff, and administrators to support student growth and progressMaintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and compliance-related recordsContribute to a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment consistent with Special Act programmingMinimum QualificationsNew York State Certification in Special Education (required)Background or certification in Math and/or Science preferredExperience working with students with emotional, behavioral, and academic challengesStrong classroom management, instructional planning, and collaboration skillsCommitment to student-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practicesPosition InformationFull-time, tenure-track positionAssignment and grade level based on program needs and certificationSalary commensurate with experience and in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreementApplication ProcedureApplicants must apply through OLAS and submit:Letter of interestResumeCopy of NYS certification(s)References
