Reports to: PrincipalPrimary Function: To assist the principal(s)To direct, manage, and develop education programs for students in keeping with their needs and the overall objectives of the Greenburgh North Castle UFSD.Responsibilities:To assist the principals in ensuring an organized school environment in which children and staff work and learn effectively,To assist in coordinating and developing academic curriculum, instruction and assessment efforts.ADMINISTRATION AND SUPERVISIONTo provide leadership in the effective supervision of staff and implementation of discipline to students and to supervise staff as determined by principal.STAFFTo assist the principal in ensuring that student referrals are addressed in a timelymanner.To assist the principal in ensuring development and implementation of a plan formaintaining and improving student/teacher relationships at acceptable levels.To assist the principal in observing and evaluating staff annually.STUDENTSTo assist the principal in ensuring that student conduct is reviewed and evaluated.To assist the principal in ensuring development and implement a behavioral plan forimproving or maintaining student conduct at acceptable levels.To assist the principal in ensuring that the student/teacher relationships in the academyare improved or maintained at acceptable levels.PROGRAMTo maintain a positive climate which is conducive to teaching and learning.To assist the principal in ensuring that restriction rooms and detention procedures areevaluated and reviewed.To assist the principal in providing leadership in the implementation of the schooldisciplinary code.To assist the principal in providing leadership in initiating innovative disciplinarystrategies as well as revise existing procedures in order to maintain a safe, wholesome environment for teaching and learning.To assist the principal in the implementation of curriculum and instruction initiatives.Coordinate all testing procedures including Regents examinations and diagnosticassessments i.e., i-ready.MANAGEMENTTo assist the Principal in managing the academy’s resources effectively and toprovide leadership in administration of the discipline code.To assist the principal in ensuring that the operation of the academy and the utilizationof resources are monitored and evaluated.To assist the principal in developing a plan for improving or maintaining at acceptablelevels the use of the academy’s resources ensuring that academy’s resources or usedefficiently, effectively, and economically.To assist the principal in ensuring that District policies and procedures are properlyimplemented.COMMUNICATIONTo establish and maintain effective communication with staff, students,parents, and administrators.To assist the principal in ensuring communication with all groups indicated aremonitored and evaluated.To assist the principal in development and implement a plan for improving ormaintaining communication at acceptable levels.To assist as a co-liaison between the academy and the Agency if co-located on a St.Christopher’s, Inc. campus related to student behavior and other issues as determinedby the principal.To assist the principal in responding timely to central office assignments.
