Job Description: Entry-level supervisor position, leading an information technology program and team. Qualifications:*Must take and pass the relevant Glen Cove Civil Service examination when first offered and quality for placement on the “List of Eligibles”A Bachelor’s Degree including or supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours management information systems, computerscience, information technology or closely related field and three (3) years of experience in network administration,information systems management or computer programming (NOTE: Successful completion of a three (3) credit hour course beyond the requirements in (a) in management information systems, computer science, information technology, or a closely related field may be substituted for three (3) months of appropriate experience.) Refer to the Commission’s Policy on Accreditation of Degrees.Fingerprinting clearance required Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to):Administers and oversees a LAN and WAN for State and local information systems; Lead and supervise the installation of LAN and WAN equipment and systems including configuring workstations and installing switches, routers, modems and wiring, and loading server and personal computer softwareCoordinates Internet connections and email systems; Administers telephone system including troubleshooting malfunctions, running telephone cable, programming the system, setting up voice mail and training usersMaintains a LAN and WAN including planning, implementing, supporting, monitoring and securing network components including all implemented systems and programs related to the agencyWrites programs using database software in creating monthly statistical and data reportsCoordinates network management systems, including adding and deleting users, performing terminal security, receiving administrative and systems messages and working with personnel on troubleshooting terminal malfunctions and printing problemsSupervises and trains other technology staff; Attends training and continuing education involving improving and emerging technologiesEstablishes guidelines to determine feasibility, priorities, logic, and economics for the optimum use of information technology programsDevelops and establishes budgeting, accounting, cost and utilization schedules, procedures, records, and reports for information technology systems and programsAny other duties that may be assigned by the Coordinator of Instructional Technology and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Technology Location: Glen Cove City School District Deadline: June 28, 2024 Effective: 2024-2025 Application Instructions: Qualified candidates should apply via OLAS with a resume and letter of interest to Andrew DiNapoli, before the deadline or send and cover letter personnel@glencoveschools.org
