Job Description: Contributes to the development of a healthy, safe, and caring environment by advancing the understanding of the emotional and social development of children while supporting families and the community. Qualifications: New York State School Social Worker Fingerprinting clearance required Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to): Empower students, families, and school personnel to access available opportunities and resources to fully develop each student’s potential Serve as a liaison between home and school as well as fostering communication between families, schools, and community agencies Provide individual and group counseling to students and their families Play an active role as a member of the building team as well as Crisis Intervention team Support the implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) Capable of providing support to students, families, and staff Responsible for interpreting information found in the social history and sharing this with relevant building staff as well as CSE/CPSE Attend mandated CSE/CPSE meetings to present information Other related duties as assigned Location: Elementary Application Instructions: Qualified candidates should apply via OLAS with a resume and letter of interest to Andrew DiNapoli, before the deadline.
