Job Description: Appropriately assist students with disabilities in being as independent as possible in a gaining essential knowledge and skills. Qualifications:High School DiplomaAbility to work collaboratively with colleagues and studentsExperience working in a public or private school setting preferredExperience working with students with individualized educational plans a plusMust have full fingerprint clearance through NYSED OSPRA Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to):Complete an assignment for an individual student program or a class program.Implement and track behavior plans.Assist with the de-escalation of student(s) who are in crisis under the direction of a mental health professional.Supervise and secure the safety of student(s) who are at-risk for elopement, aggression, physical injury, and/or any other at-risk behavior as identified by the Committee on Special Education.Ability to support a program outside of Special Education in the capacity of a monitor.Other related duties as assigned.
