Culinary Arts Teacher, (Part-time, 10 months, The Spire School)The Spire School in Stamford, CT, is actively recruiting for a Culinary Arts teacher. One to three years or more of teaching experience with middle and high school age students is preferred and additionally, if you have exposure and/or experience teaching in a special education classroom it is a significant plus.Spire is a State-Approved Special Education school, grades 8 -12, for students with social and/or emotional challenges that impact the student's ability to thrive in a typical academic setting. Our model of individualized social-emotional wellness plans and our small group academic setting (classes are typically 6:1, some are smaller) makes us unique, and 80% of our students are district-placed.Candidates for the position must have a demonstrated passion for teaching and a collaborative style to work on a team prepared to meet the individualized needs of each student enrolled in our school. If you have had experience with this type of differentiated instruction, writing IEPs, coaching students, and daily challenges then you are a candidate for this position. Our school has 60-65 students enrolled and has a very strong, established team of leaders, teachers, and Life Coaches who collaborate for the common goal of having each child reach their full personal potential.The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:- Bachelor’s degree-Candidates must hold/ or be eligible for a valid Connecticut state teacher certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
