Greenwich Education Group’s small, private special education school, The Spire School, is seeking a Life Coach (Grades 6-12). This is an exciting opportunity for a CT certified school counselor, school social worker, or school psychologist to work collaboratively with our teaching team to support students (Stamford CT).?Maintaining a caseload of roughly to 5-7 students, the Life Coach will: ?Implement Educational Therapy Model during students’ weekly counseling sessions, i.e., executive function coaching, CBT, etc. to promote social/emotional and academic skill developmentHold weekly 1:1 and/or group sessions with students for counseling, academic and social-emotional check-ins, and skill-developmentActively collaborate on the development and implementation of students’ ILPs or IEPs; review/discuss student issues/profiles/progress with team members. Engage with faculty, parents and providers as needed, maintain ongoing communication with students’ parents, teachers, and mental health professional(s)Conduct regular review of students’ academic accounts to identify need for academic interventions, teacher communication, and/or classroom observationMaintain consistent communication with Head of School regarding student/ parent/ faculty issuesDevelop and implement curricula for psychoeducation, social skills, academic/ counseling support and other therapeutic groupsLead/co-lead Spire Groups, including Know Thyself, Executive Function Workshop, process group, parent-child groups, and moreDesign and implement summer therapy groups and curriculaConduct Initial phone inquiries and summaries for prospective studentsServe as proctor for testing and physical education classes, as neededFulfill other therapeutic and supportive duties, as assignedImplement PBIS systems to improve school climate and foster a positive peer culture Requirements include:2+ years’ experience with middle/high school students with social/emotional challengesCT Certification - School Social Worker (#071) School Counselor (#068)School Psychologist (#070)
