Position: SEL/MTSS/WIN Building Coach North Street SchoolReports To: Building PrincipalPart of: District coaching teamEmployee Group: GTAWork Year: School Year + additional paid summer daysJob Description: Responsible for implementing, monitoring, and collaborating with other educators in the districtwide integration of MTSS to include the WIN initiative. Provide knowledge, guidance, and support to building level administrators, general education teachers and Student Support Services staff for students with academic and behavioral challenges in the area of classroom modeling, professional development, programming, and resources to increase student achievement. Qualifications: NYS Teacher Certification Knowledge and experience with MTSS model of tiered intervention processes and implementationThorough understanding of PBIS, Response to Intervention, and MTSS and how it relates to the classroom setting and school climateKnowledge of Responsive Classroom and Restorative PracticesKnowledge of research based strategies and interventionsExpertise in Social Emotional Learning, interventions and MTSSSkills to work on a variety of tasks in a flexible manner and can demonstrate initiative and independent workResponsibilities:Social Emotional LearningWorks closely with teachers and administrators to provide effective learning and social emotional interventionsFacilitate the implementation of a building wide Social Emotional Learning curriculumFacilitate the implementation of a building-wide system of Social Emotional Supports (Responsive Classroom K-8; Restorative Practices 9-12)Support students and teachers in Tier 1, 2 and 3 needs and interventionsProvide professional development for teachers and administrators in Responsive Classroom and/or Restorative practicesMTSS/WINGuide buildings with the development and implementation of MTSS and WIN models and frameworks at school sites.Facilitates data driven MTSS building teams focusing on academic, attendance, behavioral achievementsAssists in monitoring the fidelity of implementation of MTSS and WIN models at the school level including both academic and behavior support systems. Attends professional development and district-level MTSS meetingsCollect and monitor the academic and behavioral data for the building Ensure the development, identification, and establishment of interventions at Tier II and III at each school siteConduct professional development in all aspects related to MTSS/RTI, including philosophy, problem-solving methodology, system change, universal screening, progress monitoring, decision making, intervention methods at all tiers for both academic and behavioral needsUse data for decision-making regarding student needsAnalyze student needs and linking student needs to appropriate interventions for struggling studentsWorks collaboratively k-12 to support the district’s implementation of MTSS/WINOtherMaintains cooperative working relationships with parents, staff, and other district personnelMaintains professional competence through professional reading and attending appropriate workshops, courses, and conferences in keeping with the needs of students and in accordance with district guidelines. Supports new hires within assigned buildingSupports other district initiatives or needs as determined by the Assistant Superintendent and/or Building PrincipalEvaluation: Annually per the GTA agreement
