Primary Responsibilities:To administer the business services of the school district in a manner which will assist in the realization of the district’s priorities, goals, and objectives.Specific Duties:Serves as a member of the Cabinet.Supervises the management of the financial affairs of the district.Supervises the preparation of the budget and assumes responsibility for administration of the budget.Facilitates the Audit & Finance Committees.Serves as a member of the Buildings & Grounds Committee.Supervises all accounting operations including receivables, payables, payroll, general ledger and internal control procedures.Interprets the financial position of the district to the administration by preparing reports which are required by law and, for internal operational purposes.Supervises financial and student data processing procedures to provide administrative information and long-range forecasts.Facilitates the annual school district audit including, external, internal and C4E.Acts as a liaison between the district and the Central Business Office at WFL BOCES which is responsible for all accounting functions, payroll, and accounts payable.Administers, through the Director of Transportation, the operation of the district’s transportation program.Administers, through the Director of Food Service, the operation of the district’s food service program.Administers, through the Coordinator of Grants, the district’s grants profile to ensure timeliness, accurate reporting, and data collection for purposes of complying with the grant requirements.Manages the District’s insurance program (excluding health). Review the program, analyzing needs, coverage, and risks. Develops and secures Request for Proposals and bids as required.Maintains fixed asset inventory control system including valuation, additions, deletions, and property transfers.Assists the Superintendent in presentation of financial and support service data to the community.Works with architect(s) and/or construction manager in developing specifications and requirements for any facility projects.Participates, as required, in the collective bargaining process.Consults with Superintendent and other personnel on questions relating to the district’s business affairs.Informs the Superintendent regarding plans, programs, and activities, in the area of business services.Acts in a reporting-only role on the City of Geneva IDA committee.Performs such other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.Apply on OLAS
