General Brown CSD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate special education teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role involves implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with families and staff, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. The successful candidate will begin on or about September 1, 2025. This is a full-time probationary appointment leading toward tenure. Initial assignment is anticipated to be Brownville Glen-Park Elementary.Key Responsibilities:Plan, deliver, and assess lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of students with IEPs.Implement evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations in alignment with students' goals.Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure effective inclusion practices.Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and report findings to relevant stakeholders.Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and team planning sessions, as needed.Maintain accurate and confidential records of student performance and IEP implementation.Foster a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and growth.Address behavioral challenges using positive behavior intervention strategies.Qualifications:Valid NYS teaching certification. Will consider applicants working toward certification.Experience working with students with disabilities, including those with learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges.Understanding of IEP development and implementation.Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.Familiarity with technology tools and software for special education (preferred).Salary and Benefits: Competitive and commensurate with experience- As outlined in the most recent GBTA Collective Bargaining Agreement
