Garrison Union Free School seeks an exceptional and certified Spanish Teacher (Grades 6-8) who is highly qualified and knowledgeable to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. This is a probationary instructional position with an anticipated effective date of July 1, 2026. The ideal candidate can: provide evidence of NYS certification. demonstrate strong proficiency in Spanish and the ability to model authentic language use for students. use communicative, student-centered instructional practices that prioritize speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish. foster a classroom environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and practicing language. integrate culture, geography, and real-world connections from Spanish-speaking countries to build global awareness. differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with disabilities or varying language abilities. use formative assessment strategies to monitor student progress toward language proficiency. incorporate technology and multimedia resources to enhance language acquisition. demonstrate strong classroom management and relationship-building skills appropriate for middle school students. collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school culture and professional learning community. communicate effectively with families about student progress and learning. integrate culturally responsive teaching practices. commit to continuous professional learning and reflective practices. provide students with creative and innovative learning opportunities.
