Location: Garrison Union Free School DistrictPosition Overview: The Garrison Union Free School District, a National Blue and Green Ribbon Pre-K through 8 school system, seeks a dynamic and visionary Director of Innovation and Learning. This role is pivotal in supervising and managing the curriculum, acting as an instructional leader, and co-evaluating instructional staff. The Director ensures that the District's educational goals and objectives are aligned with State frameworks, Next-Generation Learning Standards, and innovative instructional practices promoting the highest student achievement standards, social/emotional well-being, and student engagement.Key Responsibilities:Supervise the District's curriculumAct as key instructional leader for the DistrictPartner with staff on school-wide initiatives that support the Garrison Vision of a GraduateEvaluate instructional staff to ensure high-quality teaching and learningAlign District educational goals with State frameworks and Next-Generation Learning StandardsImplement innovative instructional practices to achieve high levels of student performance, engagement, and social/emotional well-beingCo-plan and lead professional learning initiatives for the DistrictServe as a thought partner for the Principal and SuperintendentCollaborate with Principal and staff to develop and implement high-quality student assessments; serve as the District's Assessment and MTSS Coordinator, ensuring that State and local assessments are administered, analyzed, and utilized to drive curricular, instructional, and intervention decisionsDrive innovation in STEM and Environmental Education, fostering student engagement and enhancing learning outcomesProvide hands-on building support in areas impacting curriculum, instruction, and assessment (i.e. budgeting, scheduling, etc.)Manage the District’s evaluation system, which includes oversight of the Frontline management systemAssist with the recruitment, retention, and HR functions for instructional staffSupport, manage, and provide staff support for the District’s Instructional Technology softwareSupervise ENL programmingServe as the McKinney Vento Coordinator and Data Privacy OfficerAct as administrator in charge in the absence of the Principal and/or SuperintendentOther duties as assigned by the Superintendent of SchoolsQualifications:NYS Certification as a SDA/SDLProven experience in curriculum supervision and instructional leadershipStrong understanding of New York State educational frameworks and Next-Generation Learning StandardsDemonstrated ability to implement innovative instructional practicesExcellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsReports To: Superintendent of SchoolsSalary Details: Regionally competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package
