We are home to a stunning 180+ acre forest with four hiking trails overlooking the Hudson River, providing our students with a unique outdoor instructional space.Position Overview: The Garrison UFSD seeks a forward-thinking, energetic, organized, and passionate Environmental Education & STEM Coordinator/Educator to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in continuing and enhancing our environmental education efforts while developing a robust STEM program that is seamlessly integrated into our environmental education curriculum.Key Responsibilities:Develop engaging environmental education and STEM curricula for Pre-K through 8th grade students.Utilize our 180+ acre forest as an outdoor instructional space to provide hands-on learning experiences.Collaborate with teachers to integrate environmental education and STEM into various subjects, including science, social studies, ELA, math, and art.Organize and lead field trips, workshops, and community events that promote environmental stewardship and STEM learning.Foster partnerships with local environmental organizations and experts to enhance program offerings.Provide instruction for elective classes for our middle school students.Push into elementary classrooms for environmental education activities and professional support for classroom teachers.Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic growth and engagement.Develop engaging professional learning activities for our staff in environmental education and STEM.Qualifications:NYS Secondary Science Certification in Biology, Earth Science, Physics, or a related field.Proven experience in environmental education and/or STEM education.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to inspire and engage students with diverse learning styles.Passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship.Why Join Us?Be part of a dynamic, innovative school district dedicated to environmental education and STEM excellence.Work in a beautiful natural setting with access to a 180+ acre forest and public trails.Collaborate with a supportive, empathetic, and passionate team of educators, administrators, and families.
