The Garrison Union Free School District is seeking a highly qualified NYS certified Middle School English Language Arts Teacher (grades 6-8) to join our community of teachers, learners and leaders. Ideal Candidate Qualities:Ability to plan and deliver engaging student-centered instruction;Knowledge of the Next Generation ELA Standards;Experience teaching middle school English Language Arts;Understanding of pre adolescent development;Experience using data analysis protocols to drive instructional planning;Experience implementing Culturally Responsive Teaching;Have the ability to meet the needs of students through differentiated and small group instruction;Experience working in a collaborative teaching model to support students’ IEP goals;Working knowledge of contemporary high-interest middle school books (across genres and text types)Proficient with instructional technology;Genuinely believes every child can learn and is able to consistently provide multiple ways and opportunities for students to reach high expectations through thoughtful, strategic and innovative teaching;Collaborative, creative, flexible and progressive in his/her thinking.The Garrison Union Free School District is committed to diversity in our workplace and welcomes all candidates.
