Fulton City School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Orchestra and General Music Teacher to join our dynamic faculty for the upcoming school year. The position will be split between Volney and Lanigan Elementary Schools. This is a probationary position.Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive general music curriculum for elementary school students that aligns with New York State and national music education standards.Teach fundamental musical concepts, including rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and timbre, through a variety of engaging activities.Direct and grow the school's orchestra program, providing instruction in stringed instruments (violin, viola, cello, bass).Recruit students for the orchestra program and coordinate with parents and the community to support student participation.Teach fundamental musical concepts, including rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and timbre, through a variety of engaging activities.Incorporate diverse musical styles, cultures, and historical periods into instruction.Organize and lead student performances, concerts, and other musical events for both general music and orchestra.Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.Salary:The starting salary for this position is $63,746. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan, and paid time off. Other salary benefits include:A Master's Degree Stipend of $2,598.$140 per graduate credit towards a Master's Degree (beyond the initial degree).$500 per year of certified experience.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field from an accredited institution (Master's degree preferred).Valid New York State teaching certification in Music (PreK-12).
