The Fulton City School District is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Consultant Special Education Teacher to join our team at Granby Elementary School for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.Responsibilities:Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students in a self-contained special education classroom setting, aligning with New York State learning standards.Provide direct instruction and support to students with a wide range of disabilities, utilizing differentiated instructional strategies and evidence-based practices.Create a structured, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student independence, positive behavior, and a love of learning.Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress, analyze data, and adjust instructional plans accordingly.Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff (e.g., therapists, psychologists, social workers), administrators, and parents to ensure comprehensive student support.Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with district policies and state regulations.Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.Supervise and direct the work of teaching assistants and other support personnel within the classroom.Qualifications:New York State Certification as a Students with Disabilities Teacher (Birth-2, Grades 1-6, or equivalent).Master's degree in Special Education preferred.Demonstrated experience working with students with a variety of disabilities in a self-contained setting is highly desirable.Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and productive learning environment.Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.Knowledge of positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS).Salary and Benefits: The starting salary for this position is $63,746. In addition, we offer:A Master's Degree Stipend of $2,598.$140 per graduate credit towards a Master's Degree (beyond the initial degree).$500 per year of certified experience.Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
