The Fulton City School District (FCSD) is seeking an exceptional candidate to teach Biology at the high school level for the 2025-2026 school year.This is a tenure track position.Qualifications:Candidates must be collaborative, reflective, and possess a strong knowledge of the New York State Science Learning StandardsCandidates must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and the social/emotional welfare of students in the context of the science classroom. Candidates must have strong Biology content knowledge and practice student-centered instruction. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ensure your students achieve learning outcomes in the subject of Biology by instructing students in a clear, concise and engaging manner, and regularly preparing lessons that incorporate NYSSLAS into your instruction.Supervisor student’s laboratory work.Incorporate the school’s objectives into your curriculum by remaining up to date with mission and initiatives.Attend staff development days to improve your skills and receive help and feedback from colleagues.Regularly communicate with parents and legal guardians regarding child’s performance, track and record student progress and keep records up to date for progress reports and report cards.Review academic needs and execute plans for improvement by providing additional help and support.Maintain student attendance records and grades.Prepare course materials such as homework assignments, labs and additional required documents.Providing instruction and academic support services at the high school level. co-teaching with general education and special education teachers and supporting student learning through modeling, lesson planning, data analysis and ongoing feedback.Administering assessments as required by NYS and FCSD.Engaging students in rigorous learning experiences, resulting progress toward high school graduation requirements, as well as career readiness.Teachers in the Fulton City School District benefit from:Professional development and mentoring designed specifically for teachers new to the profession and/or district.Collaborative professional learning community.Instructional coaching.Multi-year Strategic Plan focused on leadership, literacy, instructional practices, social-emotional well-being, family/community engagement and innovation.Highly competitive salary and benefits.Must possess valid NYS teacher certification in 7-12 Chemistry or be eligible for certification.
