The Fulton City School District is seeking a dynamic educational leader to join our team as the Lanigan Elementary School Principal (PK-6). The successful candidate for this position will have knowledge and understanding of the strengths and challenges of a small city school district, and contribute innovative solutions and ideas for continuous improvement. Essential skills and attributes include:Commitment to the FCSD mission, vision and strategic coherence plan Ability to clearly articulate a building-wide vision, lead stakeholders and utilize available resources to make the vision a realityCommitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming learning environment for students, families, staff and community membersActive support and leadership for the work of the school and district’s dedicated staff within a collaborative professional learning communities’ frameworkUnderstanding of and ability to lead staff in implementation of best practices for instruction, assessment and student supportImpactful and supportive use of data to inform decisions at all levelsEffective communication skillsCollaborative approach to planning and problem-solving Effective approach to educator recruitment, supervision, growth and professional developmentInnovative and empathetic approach to family and student engagementManage and oversee finances, logistics and physical plant necessary for effective operation of the school buildingNYS certification as a School Building Leader and five years’ experience as an educational administrator, teacher, or NYSED certified student support services professional is required.
